WIATES
Deliverable Acceptance Terms

Return Policy

Guidelines governing non-tangible software asset acceptance, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) review windows, defect remediation warranties, and digital deliverables.

LAST REVISED: October 2026•GOVERNING ENTITY: WIATES TECHNOLOGIES
01

Nature of Digital Deliverables

WIATES Technologies specializes in bespoke software engineering, technical architecture, cloud migration, AI pipeline development, and human-centered digital product design.

Unlike physical retail goods, our deliverables primarily comprise non-tangible, custom-engineered intellectual property, including proprietary source code repositories, compiled application binaries, Figma design libraries, database schemas, cloud infrastructure blueprints, and technical documentation. Consequently, standard retail return models do not directly apply to custom software engineering contracts.

02

Digital Asset Transfer & Return Exclusions

Once digital deliverables (e.g., Git repository transfer, cloud production deployment, administrative credential handover, or design Figma files) have been transferred to the client, they cannot be physically “returned” or recovered from client infrastructure.

Therefore, completed digital assets, delivered source code, and rendered consulting hours are non-returnable once access has been provisioned, except as explicitly governed by the Acceptance and Warranty procedures outlined below.

03

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Milestone Review

To ensure absolute client satisfaction and adherence to engineering specifications, all project work is structured into demonstrable milestones governed by formal User Acceptance Testing (UAT):

  • Inspection Window: Unless otherwise specified in the executed Statement of Work (SOW), the client has a standard inspection period of fourteen (14) calendar days following delivery of each milestone to test, audit, and evaluate the software against agreed functional criteria.
  • Formal Acceptance: If the deliverables meet the agreed specifications, the client provides formal written acceptance (sign-off). If no written defects or objections are raised within the 14-day window, the milestone is deemed accepted by commercial operation.
  • Defect Documentation: If deliverables fail to conform to the contractual specifications, the client must submit a detailed defect report detailing non-conforming items, steps to reproduce, and expected versus actual behavior.
04

Post-Delivery Warranty & Remediation

WIATES provides a thirty (30) to ninety (90) calendar day warranty (as stipulated in your Master Services Agreement) commencing immediately upon production release or final milestone acceptance.

During this warranty period, WIATES will investigate, debug, and rectify any reproducible bugs, logic defects, or deviations from the signed functional scope at no additional cost to the client. This defect warranty replaces physical return mechanisms and provides complete contractual recourse.

Warranty Exclusions: The warranty does not cover issues resulting from modifications made by unauthorized third parties, changes to external third-party APIs/SDKs (e.g., OpenAI, Stripe, Google), unapproved server environment modifications, or client infrastructure negligence.
05

Physical Equipment & Hardware (If Applicable)

In rare project engagements where physical hardware (e.g., IoT edge controllers, test mobile devices, telemetry beacons, or dedicated on-premise appliances) is procured on behalf of the client:

  • Defective hardware is covered under the original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warranty.
  • Requests for hardware replacement or return must be initiated within thirty (30) days of receipt in original packaging.
  • Return shipping charges and manufacturer restocking fees may apply for non-defective hardware returns requested by the client.
